3. Chronically breathers from the mouth rather than the nose
4. Primary teeth fall out too soon or too late

6. Visible crowding

What is Orthodontics ?
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that corrects teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly.
If you have any of the following , you may be a candidate for orthodontic treatment:
Overjet: It also called buck teeth, where the upper front teeth lie too far forward over the lower teeth.
Underbite: when biting together normally, the upper teeth do not overlap the lower teeth.
Crossbite: a bulldog appearance where the lower teeth are too far forward or the upper teeth too far back
Open bite: space between the biting surfaces of the front or side teeth when the back teeth bite together.
Spacing: gaps or spaces between the teeth as a result of missing teeth or small teeth that do not fill up the mouth.
Orthodontic Braces treatment can take a time period of 1 year and above depending upon the condition and cooperation of the patient.
Orthodontic Treatment Options
Orthodontic treatment can be done by many sorts of appliances, which of the most people call a ‘brace’. Braces consists of bands, wires or brackets. Bands are fixed around the teeth while the brackets are most often bonded to the front of the tooth.
Fixed Braces:
It has brackets and bands which are temporarily stuck to the teeth. A flexible wire joins all the brackets and allows the teeth to move. You can’t take the appliance out yourself, so it is called a fixed appliance.
Removable Braces:
Simple treatment may be carried out with a removable brace, a plate that can be taken out to be cleaned. It has wires and springs attached, which move the teeth using gentle pressure.
Functional Braces:
It is sometimes possible to change the way the jaws grow, using a functional brace. It works by using the power of your jaw muscles and can be of help with certain types of problems.
Traditional Metal Braces:
It consists of standard metal brackets. They have become much sleeker and more comfortable with recent advancements in technology. With metal braces, you also have the option of adding colored elastic bands to make your braces vibrant.
Clear Braces:
Clear braces work as the same way of traditional metal braces, but the brackets are made with translucent material.

Invisalign:
Invisalign is an orthodontic appliance system used to inconspicuously treat very crooked and crowded teeth in adults and teens. Invisalign aligner, clear aligner treatment, are orthodontic devices that uses incremental transparent aligners to adjust teeth as an alternative to dental braces. It is a clear set of custom-fitted removable trays made with a pliable material that fits snuggly to your teeth. Each new set of invisalign aligners applies a slight adjustment to your teeth. They are removable, you can take them out while eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. clear aligners are made of proprietary, multilayer smart track material to gently shift your teeth into place.
Partial Orthodontic Treatment:
Everyone may not need a full set of braces. Depending on the case, sometimes just one, two or a few teeth need to be realigned for aesthetic purposes and to prepare for other dental work such as dental implants, restorations or periodontics. In this type of cases an orthodontist may recommend partial orthodontic treatment, also called limited treatment.
The benefits of orthodontic treatment include a more pleasing appearance, a healthier mouth and teeth that are more likely to last a lifetime. So what are you waiting for? Contact talented team of Dr. Lilly's dentistry without any hitch. We will be delighted to let you look better by treating you.
